One of the biggest challenges for me as an executive is the need to sell. I have always found sales to be poorly represented in society, and the bad sales guys always make the lasting impressions, while the good ones tend to get overlooked by the stereotypes.
This book contains a good discussion of the Sandler Selling System, which emphasizes a quicker decision cycle, more communication, and a systematic way to discuss and address customer objections.
I found the book to be well written, with a good mix of stories, examples and theory – and the approach makes sense. It is somewhat non-traditional in its approach, but then again, traditional sales has the bad rap.
