Power Washing and Window Cleaning - Price is Negotiable!

January 30th, 2009 |

Nobody wants to be the low-price leader because this can lead to an over-worked body and tired soul. However, with the coming of the information age, competition is getting very intense because new entrepreneurs are learning how to start their own company in the blink of an eye. With this increase in competition, we will continue to see more price wars over the next decade in this small business service industry. Specifically, the window cleaning and power washing industry.

Playing the pricing game can wear you out, but remember that it is better to stay busy and work then not to work at all. If you are starting out, or only been in business for a year, then expect to do some power washing or window cleaning for prices that are barely respectable. But keep your head up because customers understand and can perceive when they are getting a great deal, and they will refer you if you continue to offer a great service (even at an extremely low price).

In the power washing and window cleaning industry, marketing is the biggest expense that an entrepreneur will encounter. Why not lower prices occasionally and let your low prices do your marketing for you. Don’t be afraid to get creative and offer different kinds of discounts and coupons, but don’t get carried away with these kind of offers. Customers don’t want to be sold, they want to buy. Therefore, offer a consistent, competitive price and you will find more referrals coming your way. If having low prices, and even leaving some money on the table on certain jobs will increase market share, then it is often worth it!
